Fire Prevention Education
Fire prevention is one of the best programs we could have. We go to the Warren Elementary School and the Apple River Middle School every
other year and teach them the importance of having 2 ways out, once your out stay out, and the universal sign when your trapped in a room
that is to open the window and hang a blanket or a shirt or something over the window sill. We teach kids to Stop, Drop, and Roll if your clothes
or someone else's clothes are on fire. We spend time teaching them not to be scared of "Darth Vader" when we come to rescue them.
This year we will have the Carrol County Smokehouse available at the schools on April 30th and May 1st. A presentation will be given to
each grade level followed by training in the smokehouse on how to get out safely. Usually a tour of a ambulance is also given at the Warren
Elementary School.

Teaching kids to check the door then the window.

The imfamous Smoke House.

Teaching kids about the equipment and what it does.
Always remember to change the batteries in your smoke alarm every time you change your clocks and not to keep them past their expected life.
You should also have at least one fire extiguisher on each floor of your house and in the garage. You should always have two ways out and a meeting place
for everyone to check in. Talk to your neighbors and get them invloved it could save your life or one of ours!
